Besides marine services, SBSS is able to provide maritime technical training to customers through the world. On 8th March 2004, SBSS opened their Jointer & Cable Engineering School in her Wujing Depot in Shanghai.
The school is an international submarine cable technology training school jointly invested by SBSS and Global Marine Systems Limited (Global Marine). The school is able to provide a full range of training in jointing technology including Universal Joint (UJ); Universal Quick Joint (UQJ) and Universal Coupling (UC) and will expand its range to include cable engineering, ROV training and other courses associated with both the submarine cable and offshore markets. Training courses will keep pace with those offered at the Global Marine facility at Boreham, UK in all aspects and Global Marine will provide all the qualified instructors and ensure the quality requirements for UJ, UQJ and UC training are met.
The school is able to provide jointing training courses for 4~8 jointers, theory courses for 6 persons, and meals for 16 persons at the same time. Accommodations and interpreters can be arranged during the courses for trainees on request.
The facilities are also available for third party usage on a daily hire basis and can provide an excellent venue for both training and office facilities.
